At Anapol Weiss, we’ve seen Roblox’s negligence firsthand. Despite marketing itself as the “#1 gaming site for kids and teens,” Roblox’s lax safety features and its response to grooming and sexual abuse claims has proven that Roblox is in the business of exploitation, not protection.
With seven lawsuits already filed, we are actively keeping an eye on new developments in the fight for accountability from this widely used gaming platform for children. Now, a new lawsuit has been filed by Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill. In the lawsuit, which is nearly identical to the lawsuits our firm has filed, she accuses Roblox of enabling sexual exploitation of children and failing to protect minors from dangerous predators on the platform.
We stand behind AG Murrill and are dedicated to holding Roblox and other interactive platforms like them accountable for the harm their negligence has caused. Keep reading to learn more about the lawsuit.
About Attorney General Liz Murrill’s Lawsuit Against Roblox
The lawsuit, which was filed on August 14, 2025 in the 21st Judicial District Court, Parish of Livingston, followed the execution of a search warrant on an individual who was suspected of possessing child sexual abuse materials. The search warrant, which was executed on July 15, 2025, revealed that the suspect was in possession of voice-altering technology that was designed to mimic the voice of a young girl. The individual was also found to be playing Roblox at the time of the arrest.
These findings are disturbing, but sadly, not shocking. Roblox is constantly in the news for sexual exploitation and misconduct that has devastated the lives of innocent children who are just looking to play a game with friends. Just this month, our firm filed a lawsuit against Roblox, alleging that it allowed a 27-year old predator to pose as a younger player and contact a 10-year old, whom he groomed and later kidnapped. The child was ultimately found hundreds of miles away from her home in California.

Cases like these are not isolated and they all stem from Roblox’s failure to implement basic safety measures, such as age and identity verification. Regarding the California lawsuit mentioned above, Anapol Weiss partner, Alexandra Walsh put it best: “Roblox and Discord know predators are exploiting children on their platforms. They’ve known for years and for years refused to implement simple and essential protections."
AG Murrill’s lawsuit echoes that sentiment.
The lawsuit describes several egregious cases, including an incident in 2018 when a seven-year old girl’s avatar was raped by two male avatars on a virtual playground. Many of Roblox’s games are marketed to players of all ages, yet expose them to simulated sexual activity that includes lap dances, nudity, and rape. Some of these games are mentioned in the lawsuit, including “Run from Diddy Simulator” and “Escape to Epstein Island.” In fact, there are more than 900 Roblox games using a variation of Jeffrey Epstein’s name. Disturbingly, Roblox allegedly knew of an Epstein supporter who was interacting with children on the platform.

As we’ve detailed in other blogs, Roblox drags its feet in responding to complaints about predators on the platform, reportedly taking days, if not weeks to respond. In many cases, these complaints went unanswered, highlighting Roblox’s commitment to profits over protection.
Because of Roblox’s inadequate safety measures, the lawsuit is also claiming that it has created a public nuisance. The lawsuit alleges that Roblox has a duty to protect its consumers, and that their negligence has breached the duty of care owed to players. The state of Louisiana is requesting a trial by jury to help bring the platform’s negligence to light. We will update this blog with more information as it becomes available, but for right now, this is another state going up against Roblox. The more that we speak up and fight, the less wiggle room Roblox has to deny liability. And they must be held accountable for the lives they have irreparably harmed.
