While many law students are familiar with careers in the defense bar, far fewer realize the breadth and impact of opportunities within plaintiff advocacy. Whereas the defense bar represents those accused of breaking the duty of care owed to individuals, the plaintiffs bar advocates for those who have suffered harm and are seeking legal recourse, including compensatory damages. Attorneys who choose to represent plaintiffs do more than practice law, they champion accountability and help individuals rebuild their lives after devastating losses.

Ashley Garland brings years of experience and advocacy to every case she takes on. Prior to joining Anapol Weiss, she served as a Civil Litigation Associate where she drafted motions, discovery requests and briefs, while also preparing and participating in oral arguments, depositions, trial, and settlement hearings. She also served as an Assistant Public Defender, representing clients at preliminary hearings, summary trials, and arraignments.
Ashley’s time as an Assistant Public Defender taught her to stand up for individuals facing powerful systems. The transition into plaintiff law was a natural one, where the same advocacy skills and empathy now helps those harmed by sexual abuse and corporate negligence. Her dedication, trial skill, and compassion makes her a trusted advocate for survivors.
