Outstanding Mass Tort Lawyer

Shayna Slater is a partner in our Unsafe Drug & Medical Device team. She concentrates her practice on mass torts, product liability and other civil litigation. Her practice involves toxic torts, pharmaceutical and medical device mass tort litigation. Shayna represents numerous clients who were severely injured by contaminated water at Marine base, Camp Lejeune. She also represents clients injured by defective hip and knee implants manufactured by Exactech.

Shayna is currently investigating cases of women who used Depo-Provera and developed brain or spinal cord tumors (meningiomas). Research has shown that Depo-Provera increases the risk of these types of tumors.

Previously, Shayna has successfully represented clients injured by Roundup with resulting NHL diagnoses, Stryker, Zimmer, DePuy, Pinnacle and Biomet defective hip implants. She has also been involved in litigations against Yaz, Hydroxycut, Heparin and Sprint Fedelis, among others.

Named Among the Top 100 Trial Lawyers in the State of Pennsylvania

Shayna has been recognized by the National Trial Lawyers as one of the Top 100 Trial Lawyers in the state of Pennsylvania and one of the top 40 attorneys under the age of 40 in New Jersey. She was also named as a Super Lawyer in 2023, Rising Star in the 2014-2020 editions of the Pennsylvania Super Lawyers and Best Lawyer from 2018-2022. She also received the prestigious award of a Lawyer on the Fast Track in 2017 by the Legal Intelligencer.

Active Community Member

Through firm partner Joel Feldman’s End Distracted Driving (EndDD.org) program, Shayna has given presentations about the dangers of distracted driving to more than 2,000 high school students in Pennsylvania. She is the co-chair of the Pennsylvania Association for Justice’s End Distracted Driving Program, which conducts presentations in high schools throughout the state.

Shayna received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Massachusetts in 2002, where she graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Political Science and International Affairs. She received her law degree from Suffolk University Law School in 2005.

Prior to becoming an associate at Anapol Weiss, Shayna worked as an associate at a prominent law firm in Massachusetts specializing in nursing home litigation and medical malpractice. She is admitted to practice in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Massachusetts, before the Supreme Court and the U.S District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.
